For this special, Tyler Sonnichsen and Adam Crowley, two recent college graduates stranded in their hometown in Southern CT
for a month, decide to go exploring and see how much treasure they can dig out for minimal cost, seeing as how their respective
universities had bled them dry for the past few years.
In part one, Tyler brings us on a tour of Yale University on the Elis' move-out day the week following graduation. Unsurprisingly,
these kids are dumping out countless perfectly good items, and it's up to him to rescue these treasures from fading away in
New Haven-area landfills. We even meet a local couple who've made it an annual tradition to bring a van around and collect
old appliances fit for resale!
In part two, "Adam the Garbage Gadfly" spends a beautiful Saturday afternoon exploring the myriad of tag and antique sales
on a voyage toward the Connecticut river, where the town of Chester holds it's annual town-wide tag sale. At the end of the
day, he meets back up with Tyler and they review the countless treasures they've found- for the total of less than $12.
