So, I didn't get an episode up this week. Sorry. I did record something on Wednesday night, but it wasn't
anything vital that I couldn't also just type here, and it wasn't up to posting quality, truthfully. Hopefully I'll get things
sorted out and have a new episode up next week. Or a new radio show. Who knows.
One item I mentioned in the aborted podcast was the brilliance of Andrew Jackson Jihad, a folk-punk group from Arizona I've
played on the show before, Season 5 / Ep 3 to be exact, about halfway through.
I'll post "Heartilation" at the bottom of this post for good measure.
One song that Sean of AJJ played completely blew me away, along with the hundreds of other young people densely packed into
the incubator that was Hole in the Sky the other night. It was a newer song about Arizona's bullshit SB1070 law, and his lyrics
are more powerful and more spot-on than anything I've ever seen written, for or against the law. I'm not saying anything about
any political ideology here, but the people will have their say, and those hypocrites who call themselves our leaders can fuck off. I hope you enjoy these songs as much as I do. Get on board with these dudes
now because their fanbase is swelling faster than you can count. And have a great weekend. I love you all. Except for you.
We recorded this while on the road to (and from) RVA for a show. Think
of it as more experimental. I decided to bet Chris and Mark that the Labor Day traffic coming back into DC would suck, while
they were skeptical. In the course of talking about traffic, we get into bizarre episodes from our past, Chris probably throws
in some small mammal references, and Mark swears a lot.
Split into 3 parts, the second and third parts bookend
a visit to a strange offbrand convenience store in the middle of Virginia. We learn a lot about ourselves and the world of
late night truck stops.

Evan and I recorded this mini-episode while on our lunch break.
Evan and I took a few minutes to talk about crazy people, and why people (especially in and around DC) are so goddamn crazy.
Simple enough.
Also, I included an mp3 rip I made of a bizarre old record I received recently. It's been in my
family for some time, but we have no idea who sings it. I describe it for a bit and then play the song. Anyone with any idea,
or who may know a resource I could go to to figure it out, hit me at bigtakeoverradio at gmail dot com.
