I have to be brief here for a number of reasons, but first of all, the new TDC short film is going
to be delayed until this weekend! Sorry, but due to a couple of extenuating circumstances that you'll read about below, I
haven't had a chance to reformat it and upload it. Here are a few noteworthy news items.
FACEBOOK
Emersonian
artiste and TDC legend Josh Newey has created the first
TDC Facebook group, and most of the original members have jumped on board. Hit us up if you're on Facebook. If not, this site is still here
and there's still plenty to live for, don't worry.
NORWEGIANS
Thanks to someone special, I got the chance to
see one of my favorite singer/songwriters, Sondre Lerche, and his unbelievable backing band Faces Down at the Birchmere last
night.

If he comes through your town, especially with 21-year-old baritone-voiced folkie Willy Mason, don't miss the show. I've
never seen a band have more fun onstage than The Faces Down, particularly during their seemingly improvised 9-minute version
of "Dead Passengers." Lerche is all about rocking out now, integrating his older Bossanova-style compositions seamlessly into
the mix. Supporter Willy Mason (from Martha's Vineyard, not Norway) was impressive, too. One song, "Oxygen," nearly took my
breath away. (AWESOME PLAY ON WORDS! SCORE ONE FOR ME). Anyway, check out his
myspace to hear what I'm talking about. "Oxygen" is an older song, but probably still out there somewhere.
SAD NEWS
I
got an email at work yesterday from my friend Nick. Apparently, a member of the DC/Maryland comedy community died in his sleep
the other night. There have been conflicting stories but once any details are confirmed I'll write more about it.

Sorry that I haven't had time to develop any other thoughts than that whole thing about YouTube
and how Viacom pisses me off. Thanks for the great reaction(s) it got from friends and other readers.
Make sure to
come back tomorrow (or Friday...I make no guarantees, sorry...don't let that deter you because we had a lot of fun with this
one.)
I'll write something again soon enough. To hold you guys over until I post the new movie, here's one of the most disturbing
album covers I've seen in a while. Why? I don't really know.
