Thanksgiving
[transmission from... Tyler Sonnichsen]

The sun's coming up on the day before Thanksgiving, and now I'm waiting for my clothes to hurry the hell up and dry so I can
pack, go to work, and eventually, catch my flight up to New England tonight.
Way too much has happened since last Thanksgiving, when I posted this Rockwell with nothing else but a 'Happy Thanksgiving' message. Enjoying the experience of looking at one of Rockwell's poignant Thanksgiving
paintings then spending the holiday up in the area where he lived for so long is something I spend most of the year looking
forward to. It's going to be great to see Alex and hopefully Ted and maybe a few others from the original TDC Crew.
I can't really explain how grateful I am for all of the experiences and wonderful people who have come into my life (you know
who you are), and even those that have gone (you, too). Every day I notice something new that I should be grateful for. Here
is a short list of those things.
- The people I've just mentioned that have come into my life for one reason or another- comedy, the rink, work, mutual friends,
whatever.
- The simple experience of listening to bands like Orange Juice that were/are so good that they remind me why I listen to
so much music I never have enough time to get a song stuck in my head.
- The roommates for a genuinely great living arrangement, and Bodhi for filling the living arrangement with high-pitched
barking and his fur. (If you haven't watched the video yet, scroll down to the bottom of this page and fix that. We're going
to make this dog the next internet star. Fuck you, Jellyman.)
- The 2006 Elections for showing that democracy, while far from perfect or even adequate, still has a pulse.
- Britt, for being a great sister and a best friend, and never balking at the chance to laugh at Mitch Hedberg jokes over
dinner.
- My parents, for everything, and supporting me in all of my stupid-ass endeavors.
- You, whoever you are, for reading this and giving me that erratic feedback that I'm always pleasantly surprised to hear.
Alright, I think that's my clothes finishing drying. I should get going. No matter where you are or what you do, enjoy your
weekends. Catch you all next week.

MUZAK!?Listings coming soon. Once I have some damn time. IF
YOU LIVE IN THE DC AREA, HAVE A SOUL, AND ENJOY GOOD LIVE COMEDY, I highly recommend these weekly/biweekly shows. MONDAY11TH ST. LOUNGE First and third mondays of every month. It's
intimate, friendly, and the servers upstairs are fine. Even an audience of 10 non-comics can whip the place into a frenzy.
Hosted by Lou Giglio, or Bart Voisin if he couldn't escape the calling. Oh Highland Dr, right across from the Clarendon
Grill.
SPY LOUNGE Eli "the man" Sairs and Tyler "da man" Richardson run this
open mic at a bizarrely posh but still fun place right in the heart of Adam's Morgan, on 18th St. Starts around 8pm.
CHIEF IKE'S MAMBO ROOM Run by the luminaries behind DCC4N. On Columbia Rd. right north of that intersection
in Adams-Morgan.TUESDAYNema is gone, but info about Takoma Station and the Library
(both in Northeast) coming soon.
Wiseacre's happens on this night, out in Tyson's.WEDNESDAYWiseacres will always be there, hopefully, out in Tyson's.
DR. DREMO'S IS DEAD. LONG LIVE DR. DREMO'S. THURSDAYCollege Perk First and third Thursday of every month, this is probably
the most fun you'll have at an open mic in the area. Maybe because it's a college hangout with a liquor license. 9078
