[Hey, everyone. While I'm toiling out here in La-La Land's biggest province Derelictville, my buddy Jermaine's pitching
in with his first writing for the TDC page! So, everyone extend him a warm welcome. I've recently introduced a routine into
my stand-up that involves the Power Rangers, and boy, did that light a fire under Jermaine to get to the bottom of the show's
true themes. Enjoy. - TWS]

Don’t act like you haven’t seen this before. Let’s start with a simple show and we’ve all loved it.
It’s called the
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.
Yeah, it’s obvious that the black ranger was Black and the yellow ranger was Asian, but has anyone noticed that the only mechanic
in the show, Alpha, had a Spanish catch phrase? Aye, Aye, Aye… so you do remember! That’s probably why the Zords never broke
down because they had oil changes every night.
Another reason this fabulously racist show is so… well, racist, is because the green ranger was a knock-off of a Scottish
man. He played a wind instrument to summon a green lizard which kind of reminded me of the Loch Ness Monster. And Zordon was
a nazi. Man, he was controlling.
Let’s move on to the Thundercats. You couldn’t tell who was what everyone knew that Panthero was a Black. He wore
leather and spikes. He had a bald head and bass voice. And these huge track running legs.

Well, I'm still here, and I'd been throwing around a bunch of ideas for a marginally entertaining new post, but I've been
throwing around all sorts of ideas for all sorts of new things, (plus my sinuses decided to say 'fuck you' for some reason
about a half an hour ago) so this posting is going to have to compromise on this brief list of things that are awesome and
which I have recently discovered to be so.
OPPENHEIMER
No, not the guy responsible for the A-Bomb or the head writer for I Love Lucy; I'm talking about two incredibly nice guys
from Belfast that make unbelievably lush, quirky pop music. An opportunity to see them recently fell into my lap, and I'm
so glad I went. I've been listening to their S/T album on repeat since I bought it after their show the other night. Plus,
Tim Wheeler of Ash shows up on one track. Good popsmiths run in packs, or at least North Irish ones. Listen and love.
Preachings of the Reverend Justin Schlegel
Justin is a friend of mine who's taken to an extensive amount of video work on his website, including progressively impressive
video blogs. The latest, which he claimed he did piss-drunk, brings forth a steady torrent of essential knowledge to anyone
who is getting into going to comedy shows, or getting into even interacting with comics on a small scale.
By the way, the name he mentions at the beginning with a comparison to Malcolm P.I. is a comedic genius and trusted source
for wacky stories about dizzy broads.
